The Hippodrome Theater is truly a one-of-a-kind venue and entertainment mecca for all. Located at 526-528 North 2nd Street, the historic Hippodrome Theater and The Speakeasy Grill are the perfect settings for your special events. The Speakeasy Grill - Private Dining
The Speakeasy Grill, formerly known as the “Taylor Mansion”, constructed in 1895, provides a more intimate and formal backdrop for your special event. The glowing white brick walls and cast iron fence greet your guests. Inside is period styling and the flow of an early 20th century home.
We can accommodate parties up to 50 persons, depending on availability. A credit card is required for parties of 10 or more, with final guest count determined within 24 hours of the reservation.
The Elk’s Room at The Speakeasy Grill: Also known as the “upstairs private dining room”, The Elk’s Room is the ideal spot for an intimate dinner for 20 or less. The Elk’s Room carries a $200 rental fee for a 2-hour block. Guests may order off the full menu of The Speakeasy Grill.
The Hippodrome Theater & The Speakeasy
The Speakeasy: The Speakeasy is a venue that gives homage to the 1920’s Prohibition Era. Located in the back of The Speakeasy Grill, its high ceilings, dark wood, and period lighting create memories of wilder times that were part of Richmond’s 2nd Street lore. Includes a full service bar and your choice of seating. Perfect for a group dinner or cocktail reception. Maximum capacity is 150.
The Speakeasy Balcony: The Speakeasy venue is an open-faced floor plan with an attached balcony overlooking the dance floor. The Speakeasy may be rented out one month in advance for a group of 50 or less.
The Screening Room: located on The Hippodrome balcony, The Screening Room is a luxurious setting for your special event. Inside this elegant space, you will find a full service bar, lounge-style seating, as well as pieces of history from the original Hippodrome Theater. Maximum capacity is 90 and measures 45’x65’.
The Hippodrome Theater: The historic Hippodrome Theater is the perfect setting for your special event. The swinging 1930’s Art Deco Period influences The Hippodrome’s styling. High ceilings, a brilliant 8’ wide chandelier, mahogany bar, and herring bone pattern dance floor come together for a new of a kind venue. The first floor measures 65’x120’, which includes a 28’x43’ dance floor and a 20’x30’ stage. The Hippodrome also has a 60’x65’ balcony and a 45’x65’ Private VIP Room
